Well, it could be a lot worse! I notice in particular a lack of stick on "aero" fuel filler.
I've never been a particular fan of "luxury" leather interiors in small car, especially white ones. A small car is not a luxury item. Buy a bigger car!
It would be pretty simple to turn it into a current euro style car. Change wheels to some silly wide small diameter ones, sort the bonnet etc.

Now the boards broke again lets have a laugh at my recently purchased chav wagon and discuss the "potential" all cars have ;D ;D

The bonnet looks better in the pics than in real life!! It is the skonkiest job I have ever seen a blind emu could have done a btter job.
Plans if I keep it are black bonnet vynl chequered roof. Better suspension and either stripped out with buckets or Black/grey alcan 106 GTI interior. The wheels would possibly be changed for BBS splits in 4 stud Audi fitment with spacers all polished up.

chrome wire wheels off a MGB
BRG paint job
chrome GB letters
chrome boot rack with wicker hamper on it.

I quite like phase one saxos...they rather suit the square lights.
but the later ones look like they've just bitten a lemon.

Some people never learn.... ;D I'm definitely of the "Everything has potential" school of thought, go on, do something with it! I very nearly bought a brand new Saxo VTR in 2002. Had a test drive - good fun, but the heater control, driver's door mirror and sun visor all broke on said test drive. If they hadn't life could have been so different....

Is this the 2nd Saxo you've owned? One is bad enough, but 2? Come on....

I actually think that's alright. It needs a standard bonnet/grille. If you can take the headlamps apart then satin black the internals rather than have them body colour. Bin the sunstrip. Get something polished with dish, rim-wise. I even think the cream interior 'works' with the blue paint. It's crying out for Euro.

i agree, not bad at all. as mentioned before, i'd decolor-code the headlamps and matt black the bonnet. the rims suit it fine too.
as for it being the 'lowly' vtr, i believe theres only 10bhp between it and the vts model, and that is only at peak revs. my friend has a standard one of these, and it handles and shifts well. pity the interior is as hardwearing as damp cardboard.

dood!
alright. I'm going to have to be GENTLE.
firstly, i like you man. you are the shiznit.
if you are doing this in the name of profit, ok.
BUT.
if you want a modern car, ok. but not this one.
saxos are like the least reliable, hardwearing, breakage free car EVAAAAAAAAHR. they crumble and flake and metal bits vanish. they have weird faults that cant be fixed they always look curse word, always run too fast and buzz everywhere, always fall apart, always break down, always fail to deliver in every way and if i had to pick the last car id ever want to own, this would be it. after a polish fso polonez. AFTER a kia sedona. AFTER - thats AFTER - a SsangYong Rodius. seriously.
i don't like it.
at all.

Saxo's are my guilty pleasure! They can be had cheap, don't break toooo much, they handle well and are easy to sell. Give it 5-10years and they'll be the new Pug 205

Give it 5-10years and they'll be the new Pug 205 I was gonna say deffo punt it on and turn a fast buck on it, but if you like them then go for it man! If you turn it into something along the lines of the brown one HW posted you will be instantly elevated to legend status! But do whatever you feels right with it and you won't go far wrong Not sure if AK was bieng sarcastic but I actually like that suggestion! Save for the wire wheels maybe

I also like AK's VIP idea. But also as people said unless VIP not this one, I also like the early ones but thats me. Not a fan of the chav additions , and its not Retro, but theres potential no doubt. Cleaned Euro looker on the right model with xpack Ford 4 spokes

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Its escaped a lot of Halfords upgrades by the looks of it, only needs bonnet re-doing and standard light clusters. Then a vinyl roof in the same colour as the interior.

I think its a good basis for something a bit different, I really like that bronze/brown one, I think the wheels ares too big on it but I do like how they're tucked into the arches. itd also suit wheels sticking out of the arches. theres plenty of examples of what not to do to em driving round our roads so as long as u learn from others mistakes then u could have an uber cool ride. don't they have 110bhp as standard the later vtr??

The later VTR's have 98bhp. However mine is a crossover model which means it has the single pin ECU and 90bhp. Although my straight thru exhasut and sunstrip will prolly have given me at least a million BHP extra!
Single pin ECU makes VTS conversion easier appaarently
