Not car related but don't know who to ask?

Hi folks. Got a mixer with broken switch. I got an ebay one but the connectors are really different. Can anyone have a look at the pictures below and give me some pointers on wiring it in? Many thanks. Jed

In case you can't get someone to help with the new switch, I think I've found the same switch as the old one:

Swapping like for like is always going to be easier than trying to rewire it to use another switch.

The switch you have bought is not the same as the old one electrically.
The old one, you press the start button and the contacts are held in electrically until you press the stop button OR the power dies.
The new one you have is a basic on off switch, ie it stays on until you press the stop button.

This is ok for some uses, but the main reason the original one is used is so that if it has been left on either during or after use, or accidently turned on in storage it doesnt start up on its own when you plug it in - if this doesnt bother you then its fine to use.

Commonly, switched contacts are numbered sequentially, so in this case you would connect the live to 11 and the neutral to 21.
Looking at your old switch, if the cable connected to 13 is live then whatever is connected to 14 should be connected to 12 on the new switch. If the cable to 13 id the neutral then 14 should be connected to 22. The one cable you have left (ie from 24) should be connected to whichever is left out of 12 or 22 when the other three wires are in place.

The third set of contacts would be used if you were using it to switch three phases.

What he said.

The original switch is NVR ( No Voltage Return) that is to say,if the power gets interrupted, the machine will not restart when the power goes back on, its a massive safety feature,for obvious reasons.
