I bought a copy of Redline magazine today, which usually isn't my cup of tea.The thing that swung it was the cover cars and after reading the mag,I wasn't dissapointed. Heres a few of the features. Mk2 Golf 0-60 3.3 secs.standing quarter 10.6 secs.top speed 177.5 mph 400bhp,410 lb/ft at 27 psi Scooby 0-60 2.6 secs.standing quarter 9.7 secs.top speed 186.5 mph E30 M3 787bhp,620lb/ft Just figures I know, but the Mags well worth a read to see the amount of engineering that has gone into these cars.

Is the Scooby a blue 2 door one? If so it was racing at Gary's Picnic. Quickest I saw it run was 9.3. Awesome for a road going four pot.

I vaguely noticed they had a "much less shiit" look about their mag when I was in WH Smiths

Last month was pretty good too (what happening to all the chavy car mag ) they featured Martin Hadlands 700 bhp Escorth Cosworth. Is the Scooby a blue 2 door one? If so it was racing at Gary's Picnic. Quickest I saw it run was 9.3. Awesome for a road going four pot. It's the Zen Motorsport one, unbelieveably quick saw it at J Fest twas quicker than the infamous Norris Evo, until this happened..................... ..............unfortunatly it set its self on fire a few laps into one of the time attack displays managed to get this pic as it was towed away. Then the driftwork cars came on and a fancy RX7 set its self on fire too, I don't know these Japanese car!

think the problem is that these guys are pushing the envelope - they are extreme examples of what can be done if you have the engineering and the money to do it. They are pretty much on the edge and a big expensive bang has to be seen as coming with the terretory with these kind of cars. Jealous? Moi? naturally!

Me too ;D I don't think that fact the exhaust exits through the front bumper help the fact! Look to me like the fire was mainly on that side of the car.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

it seemed to have gone as bad as if not worse than Max Power at one point.

Scooby's not the one I thought it was. That one was in Scooby blue, no stickers, spoilers, etc. Just some hand cut slicks on modest wheels and loads of power. No fuss, no drama, easy 9s.

it seemed to have gone as bad as if not worse than Max Power at one point. "Fast Car" is by far the worst (interms of high smut and low intellect levels) although the guy "Scary" I think his name was always had a quality selection of banger getting through several old RX7's and a boxy Audi Coupe in a few issues, I think he work for J-Tuner now?

"Scary" ended up on Practical Classics as an associate editor or something IIRC. Yeah, Fast Car is abysmal. It used to be really good too.

Fast Car was an excellent mag at one point. Full of proper cars, a bit like a grass roots C&CC but then it started to copy Max Power and went downhill from there. Hopefully the glory days of MP, FC etc. are drawing to a close as all the spotty twerps switch to Nuts, Loaded and other soft porn / lads mags whilst the actual car enthusiasts amongst their readership have many different car mags to choose from. I think MP & FC stopped being about cars a long time ago, instead becoming more about the "cruise culture" and (chav) lifestyle. Hopefully they will both disappear up their own rectums.

Max Power isn't bad at all these days. I didn't buy the last issue cos it was all FWD nonsence late model junk but they've been featuring some really decent cars and all the lad totty tat is out now.

Must say The only truely dodgy bit in the mag,was the cars for sale. It still beggars belief, that someone could spend £30K on a 1.1 Corsa!
