Sabine isn't in it anymore. She's too busy racing officially. I'll cancel my order for extra Kleenex then ? She definitely IS in new TG, it was in the news a couple of weeks back that Evans got Ill whilst filming a TG section where Sabine drove him around Laguna Seca. It was never stated that Sabine would be a full-time presenter, I guess she'll do little guest features like she did on old TG.

Made me laugh when I saw the bleating about Evans being carsick - he's not the first to be ill being a passenger in a car being driven on the limit and he won't be the last. It's a different ball game when you're not in control...

Matt is a car nut as said and he's American which helps with selling the programme to the Americans.

I see it as a good thing, I think he will add a spark something different.
If am honest I saw it being a lack lustre affair with Chris Evans and his mates making it a program that appeals to the higher end audience. I did think James Martin would have been poached and as his part of the BBC and I like him but I think it would have bored me with him and Chris yarning about there classic car collections with the occasional input from other conissures and Jay Kay.
There is still hope they can get Eric Bana and Mark Webber then I will be hooked.

i thought the last incarnation of the show was worn out, it was almost predictable. It was as predictable as christmas, and like christmas, the only people who got excited by it were kids. Yup, time for something new. I think Chris Evans is the perfect guy for the job. Not sure about the chemistry with the rest of 'em but I look forward to seeing the result.

I think if you're viewing the new top gear against the old top gear nothing's going to live up to it, but just as a fun car show I think it will be an enjoyable watch. They're both definitely car guys

I think if you're viewing the new top gear against the old top gear nothing's going to live up to it, but just as a fun car show I think it will be an enjoyable watch. Exactly. A lot of people seem to get hung up on the 'oh, it's going to be different' thing. Well, yeah. It's not going to be Hammond, Clarkson and May. But if that's what you want, watch Hammond, Clarkson and May on Amazon Prime. New New Top Gear will be something else, but it will probably be good. And if not... well, they're not charging us to watch it. *shrug*

The way I see it it's almost a good thing we now will have 2 big car shows

just seen that Eddie Jordan has been signed up.
Don't worry, it was in the Guardian so it's definitely a lie!

It's an odd choice, but TG v3.0 needs to be, and will be, different. I have an open mind and will decide when I've seen a few episodes. Even VBH looked back on her debut on TG v1 and thought it wooden, IIRC. I'm all for them mixing it up and making it stand on its own 2 feet.
Amazon I don't have and won't get. With the same 3 presenters, I think it will struggle to distance itself from TG v2. For that reason, it has the greater risk of not working. Each of the 3 presenters are superb on their own (top marks for May's Cars of the People), but I tired of their group antics.
Back to the original point, fair play to MLB : I'l give him his chance.

In the mean time .. Fifth Gear did this : Which is actually retro and relevant I think top gear just died, i mean if fifth gear carry on like this there wont me much point worrying who the co presenters are or how many pianos they're going to drop.

In the mean time .. Fifth Gear did this : Which is actually retro and relevant In 2003 i was looking for carbs, for a Skoda 1.6 engine i was putting in my Polo. I spoke to a guy on Orange World who had a matt black V8 Capri. He was building a Vauxhall Magnum with a pinto engine. I asked what carbs he was using and he said bike carbs - i'd never heard of this, but on his advice, i went out and bought a set for my Skoda-Polo... And i've ran bike carbs ever since. I still have an old polo, with a 1.6, and bike carbs. It's come a long way and about the only thing that remains is the oil cap. But the guy's name was Mick. Now i'm wondering if it's him...
