I clearly need another car, this one doesn't have the quantity of cylinders I like and seem to be scared of proximity to the ground. Still, everyone likes a project eh? Collecting this weekend and hope to have it on the road in the next couple of weeks. Been garaged for 14 years and low mileage is believed genuine. Had a knock at the front and inside is filthy and a bit knackered in places. Little rust but didn't look rotten. Even better, it found me. It's only a couple of roads away from my flat. Looking forward to trying to explain it to wife and boss. .... Was too excited to take any sensible pictures of the outside of it. Not planning on keeping it unless I enjoy it but let's see how it goes.

Plans normally would be wide wheels and lowered suspension. This time I reckon it's MOT, wash and run for a few weeks before selling. See how it goes. Bits of it look pretty good. Bits are grubby. Essentially looks nice and solid. Hope the collection exercise goes well. MOT next week. Sent from my sofa using proboards

Dammit. Forgot to take pictures again. Still, a can of petrol and 5 minutes tinkering got it running. Ignition switch is knackered so I'll need to make something that works. Sounds like it needs an exhaust. Probably have to delay collection until next weekend though.

Almost managed to collect this today. Unfortunately it decided it wanted to stay under its sheet and not play nicely like it should.
Silly car.
Guess I'm spending next week rounding up some parts.

Finally summoned up the gumption and enlisted my brother to collect this. Due to the nature of the running of it, full recovery was the safest thing to do. All the toys out today! The less pretty side.... This is proof that modern cars have no style. What a pretty little thing.

Oh. Anyone expecting an ERT type report, sorry to let you down once more but it was only about 400 yards from my flat. No MS Paint required. Now. There's a Mk2 Cortina 1600E in pieces fairly close by. But that's for another day.

It may not have been an epic trip for you, YOU didn't have to sit in 14 years of accumulated rat widdle. And I think I have cat AIDS from the steering wheel. It's still a very pretty car though!

Oh I would buy this if it wasn't for 12,000 miles. I love Manta A's and I don't think there are any in NZ.

On a serious note, I do wish I'd bought the one I looked at many years ago. Even though it was a total basket case bodged back together with gallons of filler.
Ohhh the regret!

If they were that cheap now, we'd all be buying them!
This one doesn't look full of filler. It's had a bump on the front end and the bumper gas been replaced with a bit of pipe welded to both the body and the ends presumably cut off the original bumper.
Nice.
Along with the crumpled from wing and a slightly wobbly passenger side... However it doesn't appear to be full of filler.
There are several varieties of thing growing indoors but I'll deal with that with some Agent Orange or similar.
A few bits of interior trim to refit but I think it's complete. There is a huge list of MOT failures from 10 years ago but it's mostly lighting and brakes. Could be worse.
I'll try to get stuck in to it this weekend but so much to do and so little time....
Sent from my sofa using beer.

These are SUCH a looker. I love the combinations of straight lines and curves on the front corners round the bonnet & headlights.

Yup.
The boot lid is a beautiful piece of thing as is the whole rear end.
One of my associates has an orange one he's had since new, even his little trailer has Manta A tail lights.
Looking forward to hitting the road.

You could get them in GT/E or Rallye flavour with the stripedy bits and black bonnet.
1.9 fuel injection.
I see a white 1.6 has appeared for sale for 10k! !!!!!!!!!
