I used to work in Spain years ago and if they wish to improve their dreadful road safety record I would have thought a good start would be to change their rediculous system of giving way whilst on a roundabout or remove their strange filter junctions where, if for example you wish to turn left you have to filter right first and then negotiate both carriageways to get to the other side!
This may have all changed as I haven't been there for nearly 20 years!

all sounds perfectly reasonable tbh. To us yes, to Spaniards, not so much. Previous legislation was pretty much, stay on the right, reduce speed to 30mph or less before crashing into other cars. Fined for your ears not being visible? Fined for biting your nails? Come on. Surely you wouldn't be happy getting done for that? I'm not making any point. I just found it funny hence lol I was amused also

that correct attire thing? some years ago i decided it was time to get a local (Trinidad/Tobago)driving permit as my international licence was a long distant memory.
i duly arrived at Shaw Park (nearest test centre to licencing) with my residency permits, uk licence etc. the test was a bit of a given really. exit car park and proceed downhill to junction with Government Farm road. Turn left onto Orange Hill road and proceed as far as Claude Noel highway. Traffic light here so caution required - left turn on red is permitted if road clear. turn left onto CNH as far as Signal Hill and then L turn into Bagetelle Gar dens and down to Lambeau.
L onto the Old Milford Rd, R turn by the abattoir and return to Shaw Park with a R turn into the car park.
Being on an a slight rise, the examiner can observe you on your whole test and pass or fail at their discretion. probably related to the number of RTCs they observed you causing
i'm pretty good at turning left, left again, left again and right. reason for failure? -"do you think that shorts and a T-shirt are reasonable attire to take a driving test in ?"
exactly as it happened !!!

I don't see the point of this post as most of them are offences in the UK albeit worded differently. Spain has a really poor road safety record which is probably why they are that bit stricter.

Spain is actually one of the safer countries in Europe, measured by either deaths per population or vehicle numbers. Safer then many countries you'd assume to be quite safe! Not morbid, just planning a European road trip/holiday! Road Deaths
