Seen this morning about a mile from my workplace...



Anyone else seen a speed limit more specific??

There is logic behind these (and other specific site speed limits, 7mph etc) apparently.

The theory is that you would endeavour to keep to an odd limit like this, it's more memorable than say, 10mph

Measured on a GPS I managed 11mph downhill on my mobility scooter so a speed limit I could break

Fair strategy. Our landfill approach road is unmade and loose, so has 10mph limit.

Despite the gargantuan pot holes, grooves, and naff all grip, I see skip truck drivers doing 2-3 times that constantly.

Perhaps we need a uber specific 6.75mph limit.

Perhaps 9 1/2mph is slower than a running builder can manage, so they have half a chance of getting out of the way.

I have a static caravan on the Haven site at Burnham on sea, the posted speed limit there is 9 3/4 MPH. Maybe the person responsible is a Harry Potter fan!

I always wondered if the 11mph speed limit in motorway roadworks was the 1st gear crawling speed of most vehicles.

Looks like it's a 15 KM/H limit converted to MPH, Well as close as you could reasonably get.
