I tried buying a running Fiat twin last year (for the Lada), and for something decent with a good gearbox, I was looking at £200-£250 if I bought from the kit car scene.
In the state this one is in, I'd be thinking £100-£150, knowing it will need a strip down really.

Well if you can salvage the engine, let me know  Actually, try the Lada pages on facebook, as those guys seem to have more buying power than the Fiat guys, and some of the bits might be of use to them. |

Don't be dismayed by looking at cars in lock ups etc, you just had a bad experience. Just think - the next abandoned car in a garage might be something a little bit special* *fingers crossed for you its a Lotus Cortina  |

Sounds like you've had a nightmare mate. When I bought the capri in my avatar I saw the bloke a month or so later and he starts going on about how all his mates had told him I had ripped him off with it. I pointed out that I had given him exactly what he had asked for it and that I was hardly going to haggle the price up lol
Just live and learn from it, next time sort all the details out before getting involved
