Hi could one of you Vauxhall nuts confirm that 052 lsd will fit in Salisbury 4ha axle. Have seen a few posts rodsnsods, etc that say they will. I know Jag powerlock goes in with slight mods is 052 same. Not going powerlock as ratio I need would mean buying Dana gears as well as buying powerlock with a gearset that's wrong. Only come in 2.88,3.54,3.2? Thought some of you retroriders would know! Thx Ian

I've read on the DSG forum that someone had a Salisbury LSD in an 052 casing, not sure about the other way around. As I read it, the DTV cars used to blow up 052s at around 200bhp, so used Salisbury internals instead.

Where they breaking diffs, halfshafts or sidegears. Unsure if 052 has sidegears not knowing much about them. A lad near me used to rally a Firenza but that had welded diff. Would DTV sportpart manual shed any light on It? Thx Ian

I had a look in the Sportpart manual, and while that does discuss the various types of rear axle, it doesn't talk about putting a Salisbury diff in an 052 axle. I guess that's because of the relative rarity of the 052 axle as much as anything else, though perhaps not when that book was written.
Apparently it was the CROWN wheel and pinion that were the weak point.

I recall reading he has a jig to put Vauxhall HC mounts onto a 4HA axle as it's a popular choice for different ratios, LSDs and so on.

OK can put this to bed now!
Just spoke to Ian and he said in 40 years of Vauxhall experience he's not heard of anyone trying to do this.
He'd looked at diff I was after and said it's totally different to 4HA.
So that's saved me messing about.
Thx looking like a get lsd pizza axle then as I need a 4.6 or similar powerlok for my axle. Saves buying Dana gears from USA.
Thx for help chaps!
