Sad as I am you're getting shut of the Escort, I do Love a nice 300. I had to check to make sure it wasn't one a mate of mine used to own. That had a Renault F7R in it.

So with the escort sold, I managed to buy/ put a deposit down today on these items... New OMP wheel... A standard (for now) exhaust system... Some 13x8 banded steels with tyres... A set of coilovers... Along with some new lights front and rear a front bumper and some lowering blocks. I can't wait to get the parts and get cracking! I'd love to have the volvo on the road for the retro show at santa pod... we'll see what happens

Evening all! So, after what feels like a lifetime, the volvo got some attention! The previous owner told us (my dad and I) that the clutch needed replacing... He wasn't lying! It was millimeters from death! As we started to strip the car down, a lovely crack was spotted on the bell-housing... Hmmm... seems this car's had quite an "interesting" life! We also saw that a proper job had been done on the shaft inside... Lovely!... So this is how the ol' girl sits at the moment.. A trip up to Coventry was the ordeal of the day, so off to the Midlands in the trusty yaris donkey! I managed to pick up a set of 13x8 banded steels with tyres and both sets of front and rear lights... not a bad days work! Nothing revolutionary happening, but progress is progress and I'm a happy chappy!

Hey guys! Long time no update! Well... the gearbox, clutch, bell-housing and prop-shaft all got repaired and refitted nicely. Next up was the exhaust, it was all pretty curse word, so the whole system was removed (downpipe still needs replacing, should be here soon) and a straight-through systemvwas fitted with cherry bomb back box. Hope you like it... BTW I know the exhaust isn't sat in the hole but that was made by the previous owner, where the exhaust sits now is where it's meant to be... roughly

So I got the ol' girl firing and it's lovely and loud!
HOWEVER... shortly after the video was filmed, the radiator shat itself, so that needs sorting!
All good fun! Haha

Good to see another 340 getting the love it deserves.
However, a word of warning if you ever decide to drive it in anger. Unfortunately the 340 drivetrain is the weak link, the old and probably now dried out rubber bondings on the prop, fail regularly. If you can, buy a replacement and keep it at hand, for when the inevitable happens.
Poly engine mounts are excellent for reducing movement on the trans, which looks to be what's happened to your original bellhousing. They are relatively inexpensive, and can save you a lot if hassle.
Regarding the prop shaft, if you go onto v300m, there was a post by someone converting rx8 props.
Just my 2pence worth, I know these cars well. So feel free to ask if there's anything you get stuck on.
Best of luck with the build.
