So about the Breadvan. I was looking for one of these for a couple of months. In October 2015 I finally found a nice example at a dealership. It was a trade-in at a ''modern'' car dealer, so they wanted to get rid of it fast. Turned out to be a real nice car despite the history telling it has done about 160k miles. Somebody really took care of the paintwork and the overall look over the years. Perfect base for what I wanted to do with it. Personal situations however changed and I had to use the car as a daily for about six months, so it remained mostly stock. Only issue I had with it so far was a failing carb, but a set of motorcycle carburetors fixed that. It's only a little 1.05 liter lump but the noise it makes is amazing! Got bored so went for a drive to the coast where I found this cool harbor to shoot some pictures. Would love to go back there for pictures once the car is ''done'' in the near future

Situations changed again, got another daily so it was time to start getting stuff done on the Polo. The look I'm looking for is late 80's, early 90's with all the old plastic stuff and wheel choices that come with it. First things first, If you wanted to be a big baller in the 80s you got to have the Louvres. So Louvres it is! New old stock part from the English brand ''Autoplas''. Wheels were sourced, and coilovers were mounted (not really 80's, but it appears you can't really justify a non-lowered Volkswagen in 2016) Wheels are from the Zender Z3 mk1 golf & jetta catalog back in the day. Made in the ATS factory for Zender, Both brands logo's are cast in the wheels too Also the only set in existence I know of that still has the hubcaps After this things got really out of hand and parts of the Kamei X1 kit were hunted down. After receiving the last parts in the mail, the ''aero'' plates for the rear arches. Some prepping, painting and some testfitting happened! No way the bumper lip part will survive on this height, and raising it isn't really an option (looks weird with the small wheels/tires) So things got out of hand once again. So I'm now at the point where I'm fiddling with the Airride to get it installed perfectly working and save so it doesn't have to come out again. Also bought an awesome set of 15'' wheels with the most perfect offset for this car, but ill keep that a secret until they are refurbed and under the car Updates coming soon!

Here are pictures of last weekend's Polo Treffen I visited. Oh and the carbs fell off. Bummer! Sleeping in cars because bad weather. All part of the hobby I guess. Had a great time!

Awesome! Glad you've ended up on here. I've seen pictures of the Polo all over Facebook and Instagram. It looks brilliant.
One question, what make are your wing mirrors? Also Kamei?

Actually jealous over here, those wheels are especially nice with the rest of the kit, wouldn't hurt to give them a little more sidewall if you wanted a more period ride height. Nice combination of kits too. Big thumbs up from me on this one.

I usually dislike those bodykits, but with the rear wheel skirts, the ultra tasty wheels and the mirrors, it really works.

Thanks for the comments guys!
The mirrors are known as ''KPU'' mirrors in Germany. They made these for loads of different cars in the same teardrop style. I believe Mattig made them too.
Kit is all Kamei X1 and the wheels are from Zender.

Normally I detest plastic add ons but I REALLY like what you've done to yours. Bookmarked for sure.
