Wanted automatic choke switch Granada

As above I was a little heavy handed with mine and busted it, new or used is ok as long as it works, I think they where fitted to Granada cortina Capri Sierra transit

Right,so I had a look,seems with a bit of google input,the switch I have is one of these;

785f-8a564-ba

Transit 2.4 (York ?) glowplug sensor.

So not right.

Searching your part number comes up with this,but its wrong thread M22 ?

This also comes up which looks right size / thread but is '92 transit,so again cold start sensor.

Does your car use this switch to feed power to choke,and 'knock it off' it as engine warms up ?

I'm not 100% but I think when the engine gets to a certain temp the switch opens and feeds power to the choke, the choke has power direct from the altenator to so it dose still work I assume this switch makes the choke open faster or slower depending on how cold it is

Hmmm,
92' transit sender,is open circuit,then as engine warms it closes feeding power to a waxstat (solenoid) that pushes cold start off...

So if your carb uses a electrically heated element to release choke (as per on DFEV) this would work,
(Tho DFEV just has a 12V ignition live,as does Solex on Aircooled Beetle / camper)

Mk1 XR2 had weber with similar (alternator fed) set-up,but I cant't remember those having any temp sensor....

I have found some on eBay for vw/Audi which will fit which switch at 30/40c I assume they will do the job just as well

I found a genuine one on eBay but it sold a few weeks ago for £1.50

Got the switch today and it works the wrong way round
The switch needs to switch on when the engine gets to temp not off like the one I brought so still looking :-(

The transit diesel (92-early 95's) with Bosch fuel injection pump,Coldstart sensor is open circuit till about 11 deg C
Then closes to release cold advance,

Not much help but you'll have more chance finding one of these 2nd hand.
It screws into block behind fuel filter if you go looking for one...

Does yours screw directly into water jacket / thermostat housing,or just pick up heat from conduction.

Transit one is just screwed to block,not into water.

It's plumbed in to the coolant System, I had a look on eBay and had no luck so looked at finished listings and found one that didn't sell so messaged the seller and he still had it and only £5 posted,
It's got the same part numer apart from it has 85 at the front and its gray, but I've been told it's the same and will work so second time lucky,
