A while ago, cant remember when there was a custom stretched mini i think, which was crashed at a stunt show (Not by the owner) and the stunt driver was refusing to pay for damages/ being sketchy about the whole thing.
Anyone know what happened/any more details? It was all over facebook at the time
Was thinking about it today but cant find anymore details about it

I've followed the modified mini side of things for a good number of years and this doesn't ring any bells.
Whar was it you wanted to know exactly?

It was a auto solo mini (chopped down) being driven by James Hunt son when he went head on into a telegraph pole causing several £K's worth of damage which he couldn't pay for.

Found a post from Freddie on the matter, couldn't find the post he was replying to tho...
Freddie's reply IN RESPONSE TO GUY FOSTER
I am responding to Guy Foster’s harmful, inaccurate and nonfactual claims he made with reference to the mini crash at Gowran Festival of Speed. The video is clear to see, I crash the car through driver error, however, what the video and Mr Fosters claims don’t show is that I was attending the festival in a professional capacity helping promote the event and was asked to drive an Autotest car by Mr Foster himself and the organises repeatedly, of which I was merely obliging to them and the spectators watching. Further to this, the video and Mr Foster’s claims, give the impression that I recklessly took the car without permission. Again this is incorrect, I drove it with the full consent of him and the event organisers. Perhaps the most disappointing thing to come from this incident is the response, abusive and in some cases threatening posts, messages, private messages, tweets and emails I have been receiving over the past 36 hours from individuals who are reacting to a video and one sided claim posted by an individual who in many cases they don’t know and in all cases provided inaccurate and embellished claims. The old saying is true, don’t believe everything you read. I am posting this response only now because I wanted to monitor the situation and answer once I had all the relevant facts and not because I was going to be bullied into a reaction by a reckless individual. What the public do not see is that currently I am trying to rectify the situation with Mr Foster privately and in a professional manner. Most of you believe that me, the son of the great James Hunt, to be a very wealthy man. Those who know me, know this is not true. When my father died he was in large amounts of debt. If you care to watch the various films and documentaries or read his autobiography you will see this. Most of you see the Facebook posts of me flying around the world for various different racing events. These flights are all paid by the event organisers and most of the driving I have done in my career has been unpaid. I am a man of my word and my honesty is the most important thing to me. I told Mr Foster that I will pay him and I meant it. This will be the last I will say on the matter and will not respond further. Rest assured I am working behind the scenes to rectify this situation with Mr Foster and would ask you all to appreciate the information you have been fed and are likely to be fed as a result of this response, will be inaccurate and nonfactual. This statement will be kept up for 48 hours before I take it down. Freddie

Lucky he wasn't hurt. Who in their right mind would pick an area for an autotest with some sort of immovable object in it like that anyway.

Cheers guys, bit of detective work and we got there!
Just found this on his facebook.
"*Freddie Hunt - Guy Foster - Update*
I'm pleased to say that everything has now been resolved between myself and Freddie.
Freddie is indeed a man of his word.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish Freddie all the best in his motorsport for the future!
I’d also like to thank those who supported us and enabled this resolution. To those who resorted to the abusive comments, private messages, tweets and emails that Freddie and I received, these were unacceptable, unwarranted and caused a lot of stress for both of us."
Looks like the cars all rebuilt and looking pretty good again

Thanks

At least there was a conclusion, very often people start a thread or ask for advice for a problem and are never heard from again without even a thank you leaving us all in limbo.

Love how a woman calmly says well that wasn't very good driving when he hit it. Never heard of the incident originally but found it reasonably interesting reading about about it. Enough to post anyway
