As the title says! So here i was in work last week, and i get a phonecall from my previous employer asking "would i like to buy a car" who was I to say no? So i arranged to go have a looksee, i returned with this needs carpets and a general tidy up passenger seat and bumpers are with the car, just not in it, I've rebuilt the fuel pump already, took it home and had it mistaken for a pipe bomb by the gardai already which was a very odd experience I plan to restore it to a moderate degree although i don't actually know what to do, i cant fully restore it but i don't want to go and ruin it either! So for now i need to get it moving/starting/stopping. People are telling I'm utterly insane but yknow what, maybe I am!

How does such a lady end up in such a state? My one mind says a Roller must always be restored to original. But this one seems like it will soon ruin the restorer to a state worse than the car. Unless the deep pocket principle of course. This specimen, in my opinion, lends it to a clever, cunning approach ending in something completely different, but hopefully still lending the old lady some dignity. Bookmarked!

I'd be tempted to give it a wash, throw on some banded steels and leather bonnet/boot straps and some roundels on the doors and call it a day!
Cool pick up in any event!

I remember Jooles Holland doing a series a million years ago on C4 where he had a Rolls (with an Alien in the boot) and roof chopped the car - real hammer top. Looked great...

I vote for doing something silly. You could spend a fortune getting it nice again and it's not like they're scarce....
Good luck.

Banded steels, loose the hubcaps, lower, loose more trim, door circle, bonnet strap, repair, and roll.
Interested to see what you do with it, its a roller so anything will be cool.

Jeebus haha i wasnt expecting such a response! On another forum everyone is suggesting throw a diesel engine in, but thats ireland for ya! I'm thinking something along the lines of matte white body shadow chrome, i think thats what its called anyways! Redo the interior a bit, have it looking decent, straight pipe because 6.7 v8 haha and see from there! My first port of call was to rebuild the fuel pump which was possibly the handiest thing ever, all i had to do was clean 8 contact points and apply current, sprung back into life, 3/400 euro instantly saved So for the next while the itinerary is to Install said fuel pump Free up the wheels/brakes Make sure it stops Get it running ?

Not wishing to piddle on your bonfire ...... I hope it was very cheap, I've owned quite a few money-sponge classics but these are REALLY pricey restorations & what you spend won't be remotely reflected in the value once you've finished. If you're planning on doing some insane stuff to it then you're probably better off working with an 'unloved' example than doing it to a half decent one. If you lose heart you'd get your money back + by breaking it. I've always had an odd urge to banger race an old Shadow or Spirit??

Oh it was bery cheap indeed, 500 quid cheap, it probably has more problems than a maths book, but it was driving up till last year, the car came to our garage as a spare for another, although nothing was taken off it and it was taking up space, so me, the client and my boss arranged that id take it and here we are! I know well that it could go into 5 figures if i was to go full on resto so I'm not, if something does screw up, I'm breaking it as its worth more in parts
