Looking to start a new project/adventure whatever you wish to call it. I'm just unsure what car to start it with. I've had minis (cooper/pickup/van) Bmw e12/28 (e28 will be up for sale soon) Nisan cube, 240sx, ford escort/Orion, Opel manta, etc, there's been a lot of others as well. I'm looking for something 80s/90s, 4 door saloon, auto (just going to be a cruising car) 2.0l or above. Was looking at the e34 but they're just abit common. Looking for some not something unusual as such but less common/typical. Was looking at the Vauxhall cavalier but decided against it. Any ideas of any car that fits that description? The plan is low, funky paint job, banded steels, or whatever. Just need a base car
Thanks

Think I'm with aviva (I think) at the minute and they let you build a no claims bonus on classic policies, which is nice. I phone them tomorrow and see what they say.
Thanks

To be honest I've never had to ask for help to decide which to do next? Have a wish list as long as your arm and just slowly working my way through it

a nice 190E or old Saab 900 (proper ones). Quite like an E30 too but maybe a bit predictable...

If you don't know what you want then you need the inspiration. Ebay search criteria and then just keep checking until something speaks to you.
If you want something different then look for poor sellers from the era. I was in a Peugeot 605 recently with the v6 and it was pretty cool. Or look for oddball alfas - maybe a 90.

To be honest I've never had to ask for help to decide which to do next? Have a wish list as long as your arm and just slowly working my way through it My list of cars owned is longer than both my arms. 12 cars left on my realistic car list, all 10k upwards. I'm just looking for something cheap and different to play with from an era that Ive already exhausted most common options in my knowledge (born 87) whilst I move some cars on and find the car off the list but thanks for the input.

This is what I've been doing, found a Opel Senator (never heard of in my life) it looked cool, just lost out on the bidding. This is why I asked, I imagine there are a lot of people on here older than me that know the names of the boring mundane cars of that era. I can reel off the 190s, w114/124s etc. I've already owned them. Just looking for something like an Orion or The Granada that was posted above and just do something cool (imo) with it and probably end up selling it at a massive loss ?
