Awesome pictures guys, you've made my mind up, a Micra it is. As for the power or lack of, I was rolling around in a slammed 1982 Polo Derby 1.3 last summer!! And as for a bland car turned into something cool, I'm currently driving a slammed MK3 Golf estate, all I do is change wheels like the wife changes her shoes. Wait, you don't currently own one? Do I have the deal for you! It's uh... Awesome? 1 Litre. Engine crossmember rust and ignition keyswitch, the two biggest issues with these cars were both rectified, crossmember last year (September) and the keyswitch is brand new Nissan OEM part fitted a fortnight ago. Oil change done at the same time. New clutch, brakes and brake lines last November, new front tyres in January. Bluetooth iPod all signing all dancing headunit. Needs an aerial adaptor if you want to listen to the radio. Well, it starts and drives and has been doing 120 miles a day no problem. Has MOT until September, runs as it should, everything works, slight rust showing on the rear drivers side arch but nowhere else. Had the wheels realigned a few months ago and the mechanic said the rear trailing arm bushes are on the way out and the passenger side driveshaft counterweight is busted, causing a vibration at 70MPH. I've driven it to Ayrshire and back each day as well as a trip to Paris and back, and yes there are vibrations at 70MPH, but they go away by 75MPH and are not an MOT failure - It will continue to get worse until the counterweight is replaced though, obviously. It's a Cat-D from way back, however it's also a ready to go nothing wrong with it car that starts, goes and doesn't use petrol. Also, it's 400 quid. Need it gone as it's taking up valuable E21 space.

Sorry no yours is too new, I've got my eye on an older one, cheers though. I do like how you find it funny someone could want to mod a Micra when you have a moody photo of yours at a jaunty angle like its an E Type Jag or something! lol. People.

the 2003 I thought was quite interesting on launch with it's semi retro styling. I think the Micra name really is the kiss of death. Maybe if they'd called it something else... I think the attraction is that wibblepoo name though, taking a pants car that's ridiculed and adding your stamp to make a head turner out of £500. This isn't a new thing far from it but something i'm interested in. I mean a Metro wasn't always cool but look at what people have done with those.

I love this, this is the sort of stuff I like, I think this place should be for those that like a clean Morris Minor and those that like say this : And also for those like me..who like both.

Because seriously, it's so bland, cheap and boring, it's pointless spending money modifying it. Why are you even here? EVERYTHING has potential.

If I had a K11 i'd make it like that and win at life (well it'd have to have something hotter under the bonnet as well ) Haven't seen that before. Photoshop I assume? Looks cool. Someone should build it. I had a facelift K11 for a while as an "in between cars" car - ended up driving it for 18 months. They are quick enough if you redline them in every gear and you couldn't kill them. I much prefer the pre facelift though.

And one from the 80's too but I wouldn't consider it "retro" (1989) What does potential mean anyway? Potential for what? Sure you could tube frame it and shove an alloy V8 in the back of it, but... for that out of money you could just buy something actually good - It just doesn't make sense.

It just doesn't make sense. It doesn't have to As long as you like what you have built it doesn't matter if other people like it or if it makes sense, thats the whole point of modifying isn't it?

We had a K11 as our first car, in the classic purple that so many of them were painted in. We loved it. Never broke down, took us all over the UK for ages, traded it in eventually but I'd have another one any day. Great cars.

You can make a micra a weapon for under £1500. This was a mates until he got a steaga. I will build one someday when I get room for another car

Since when did 2003 become retro? Of course i'm not going to bother, there is absolutely nothing you can do to it to make it cool, it's still a Micra. I guess I could jump it into a lake, that might be cool. Waters pretty cold up here. Hm. I get the feeling you're about 12 years old. Lots of hating on stuff and lies about owning skylines and RX7s. 03 Micra has potential precisely because it 'has no potential'
