Worth noting that 'LARGE' section of rot was nothing more than a half inch square section of MINOR rot of which I was unaware of as was under door rubber and has now been taken care of! As with regard to immobilisor. It works perfectly as does the alarm. A wire was found to have snapped off of the starter motor due to old age causing a failure to proceed. Took all of 5mins to sort. Drives absolutely fine and will give anyone test drive to demonstrate. Pictures are available of pillar repair and YouTube video of car starting if required. I'll reiterate that the car isn't mint and has a few dents and scratches as any 24 year old car would be. But isn't rotten and just passed the MOT with ZERO advisories. Apologies if the post seems slightly confrontational but I'm on my stag do this weekend and the last thing I expected to see was a fellow member scaremongering unnecessarily. Fellow member in question was also compensated for time and hassle as well as collected from train station and dropped to his mates house at my expense. Nice one! I know Penski pretty well and I wouldn't say at all that he is scaremongering, just being honest. He is just pointing out issues with the car that he found after a VERY long train ride and wouldn't want anyone else to suffer the same, as it were. No one is disputing how easy the issues are to fix, or weather they are rectified, and if they are great news! Free bump. I like these a lot, parents had an early maroon Ghia. Spent many family holidays in the back squashed around mountains of camping kit. GLWS! |
