Thats a shame,enjoyed reading about this car when i first started getting into 5's. There are very few good early UK spec cars around and hence although heavily biased i think it's too cheap ! Goodwood cars et al manage to sell solid early imports for over 4k easily enough.
I wonder if an owners club classified would get you rather more,probably more likely to find an older buyer who is looking for a rare early standard car?

Yes, it's a real shame but I have to have a bit of a clear out (my Porsche and Sinclair C5 are also for sale). I'm not an 'owners club' sort of chap, and have very little time. I've already got someone coming over this week to have a look. I'll take the best no-nonsense, no-haggling offer I get.

I'm also biased. Mine has more miles but it is a very clean car (thread can be checked out in my link for an opinon , with it having similar work done to yours. When I was looking around alot of £1.5k cars were said to be great, but with only 'a little rust on the wings and sills' and generally shod on ditchfinder tyres. I'd have bought this if I didn't buy mine TBH given your history and the documentation of the car. It's worth a little more than that I would say given the car itself looks tidy and the interior is not a mess (most 'good' interiors I saw had saggy doorcards and torn bolsters, most with lower miles than my car. Are you moving your cars on for something "better" I take it? What were you thinking of for your 968?

My interior is good but not perfect, drivers seat was repaired by an upholsterer, door cards good, new fascia panel where they all crack, original Momo wheel etc. Carpets and mats are old, seatbelts have some fading, that kind of thing. I'm not a detailer, I prefer to drive something than wax it, but it looks lovely. I had the wheels refurb'd and the Toyos aren't that old and all match. I am lucky that I get lots of press-fleet cars to play with. I am unlucky that I have just split with my wife and am now bringing up 3 children on my own. Hence needing to release some funds. Porsche must also go (actually, I'd rather that go than the MX-5), magazines say it's worth around £20k but I'm not sure. Mine is utterly perfect. Here, have a pic;

That sounds similar to mine inside. I saw bent needles for the gauges (always a pleasure ; why was this done?) ripped bolsters along with other broken bits of trim.
It is a real shame to hear that, and thoughts are with you as an RRer. I hope things go OK for you.
I realised it was good but not that good! Is yours a Sport I take it? It may be worth asking one of your contacts I am sure.
I take it you do some work for PPC from time to time?

Yes, it's a Sport, almost like new despite being 22 years old. I write for GT Porsche about this car occasionally. I also write for PPC Magazine. Thanks for the kind words, chaps.

Not a problem and best of luck with the sale of your cars if it has to be.
I can put this on the MX-5Nutz page on Facebook if you wish...

I can put this on the MX-5Nutz page on Facebook if you wish... That would be so kind, thanks, I am rubbish at FaceBook. If you could add my email address - typist (at) motorpunk . co dot uk I'd appreciate it. My kids are seriously unhappy about this car going

Just received an offer of £200 (!) The world has gone quite mad. Thanks for the enquiries, if the sale falls though I'll come back to those interested

That's pretty cheap for a C5 and Sinclair stuff is always collectable. What colour was the boot lid?
