hi everyone, with the volvo going off for a new life, i needed a new daily rather sharpish. been keeping my eyes on local honda's for sale as i missed my concerto that was written off last year. a 93 civic eg turned up on gumtree a few days ago. i messaged the seller to see if it was as good as pics, which i was told yes but does need a little touching up here and there, but overall very good for age. well today i went to view and then purchase said eg. its a 1993 eg5 1.6 esi vtec auto with 125hp, and 77k miles!!! shifts well for an auto and drives very nicely. these are only pics at moment, inside is spotless.

Looks promising & nicely original with a spec. level to make that desirable (if you like auto). Amazing these were available with 7 distinct 1.5/1.6l engines, 1.5 SOHC 1&2 carb. 1.5 SOHC inj, 1.5 SOHC VTEC-E, 1.6 SOHC inj, 1.6 DOHC, 1.6 SOHC VTEC & 1.6 DOHC VTEC.(not to mention 1.3 & 1.4l & people later bolting in 1.8 & 2.0 DOHC). Must find a period test of that engine since I stated buying bits to put one in my '91 ED 1.5 hatch after a brief drive of a friends. Not as radical as the DOHC VTEC, but good fun.

i'm loving it. even more so now!!!!!
i swapped my insurance over tuesday, got right stitched up by swinton, so today afterwork got onto net and found a much better deal + no v/excess!!! all for a saving of over 50%, underwritten by same company and broker being...............................swinton. just crazy.
a tad over £200 a year i can happily live with.

Such a nice shape with proportions that let its curves still look taut rather than flabby, though the interior got a bit bland after the ED hatch's classic design. Love these wild JDM interiors making up for the dull dash! & after seeing these over engineered cupholders on a sedan I shall have to get some for something... So many clever little design details like the interlocking seals for the hatch window, & bothering to make the hubcap holes line up with those on the wheels, though looks like they abandoned the L&R handed hubcaps (& alloy wheels)that some of the Preludes & Integras had previously!

at the time they were miles ahead of lots of manufactures. bought some cheap alloys with great tyres, as 2 were near wear blocks. (cheaper than one decent tyre!!!!) yes rover brm wheels.

Wheels look great. Extra Diameter noticeable & if anything they suit it too well, depriving them of impact against the silver body. Making me want one to put B18C into.

hi, quick up date. i knew when i bought this it had short MOT, but MOT past history is very good. thought i would get it booked in a couple of weeks early. it passed this afternoon with no advisories, so double bonus. not bad for a sub £500 vehicle.
