ok, thanks for the input! Just to put your minds at rest, the car was taxed till the end of july and as we bought the car with still a day left in july it was still taxed, obviously i need to tax it again for this month so that was why i was asking. As for insurance, well its a car that 3 of us will share for the trip to work and it is registered in a mates name who got cover, i drove it under my policy as I'm allowed to drive another car

Had one three door in blue cracking little car!
Zero issues in the time I had it, economy wise never worked it out but thought gauge was broken for ages as it moved very slowly!
Servicing is a must on any second hand motor it's cheap as chips think if memory serves only four liters of oil and three plugs
The only thing I didn't like we're the wrong side! The amount of times I put the bloody wipers on!

I should imagine it is one of the cheapest, lightest, most economical cars you could possibly buy.
Upgraded dampers & brakes = gokart

all sounds positive then, no one has highlighted any particular pitfalls or problems so it all sounds good. It will be used mainly on motorways and it will get a round trip of about 120 miles each day thanks for your advise
