1.8 kr head onto a 1.8 8 valve bottom end.

Hi I have a 1.8 Kr head and a good 1.8 8 valve bottom end.would the Kr head fit on to the 8 valve bottom end and what will need doing to get it to fit thanks.

Not sure that's a good idea. You end up with a very very low compression ratio due to the shape of the top of the pistons and head chamber volume being different from 8v to 16v. May be useful if you want to stick a load of boost through it.

Think there's other smaller issues like tapped holes for the cambelt cover not lining up, distributor hole needs blanking etc. Might be an oil feed to the head that's in a different place too.

too much work when 16v arent big money ....its been done when they were harder to get but no point now

Not even remotely worth the effort. If you want more power just buy a KR or a 9A, or build a decent 2L 8v lump, KR cams work well in a 9a though
