It's great to see the world wasn't black and white before about 1970 ! All of our family pictures are up until the time my father got a colour camera. Like the old kart, know anything about it's history ?

Amazing set - can't get enough of never-seen before old colour slides. Especially love the few taken at the stock-car racing, though it's not on an oval but a dirt track so my naming might be off.

Excellent A preponderance of Plymouths in those shots from Israel. I wonder if there was a reason for that? Gives the impression of being a group on tour or something.

I'm guessing the links with the US and Israel meant there were many american cars sold there at the time? These next ones are from Australia (my mum and family were ten pound poms - some of the earlier slides show panama and miami and they stopped off there on the way back)

I'm guessing the links with the US and Israel meant there were many american cars sold there at the time? I'd have expected more European cars especially as there would still be very strong links with Britain. Hmm, having had a quick Google it looks like it could just as likely be partly as a result of an Arab League boycott/blacklisting that that even pre-dated the country's independance and pressurised international firms not to deal with businesses there. Eg. it seems Renault pulled out from 1959 but then returned a few years later. I suppose that sort of thing might have skewed the market a bit. Your Grandad's Magnette would be a super rare car these days. MG people were not too pleased about their name going on a stodgy Austin saloon! Thanks for taking the time to upload the pics - nice to see something brighter than the more usual black and white photos of the era.

Fantastic pictures, Thanks for posting. Liking the Buick in the fifth pic down. This thread has got me right in the mood for scanning my Dads old car pics.

Like the old kart, know anything about it's history ? I like it too, I don't know anything about it, other than that's my uncle driving it. Looks a home brew job, I'm guessing 2 stroke by the smoke behind it?

Great photo's - thanks for sharing. I know exactly where the one in Lincoln was taken - back to the Cathedral, looking at the Castle gates, top of Steep Hill on the left of the shot.

Kart looks good fun and you have found another picture, any more ? I have a 1964 kart probably from that era.
