Yeah, I've not posted here in ages. Life gets in the way, y'know? Sorry. Having kids, working too much, getting fat, losing your job, getting fit again, trying to reassemble a Porsche 914 in a month, moving to another country, you know the drill.
So, hello again. I'm Al. You may remember me from EastSide, VZi, or one of the many foreign travels photo threads I put up on here years back. In two days' time I'm driving my T4 over Glenshee (whether it's snowing or not) to Newcastle to start the next chapter of my life in the Netherlands. That sounds overly dramatic. My wife and kids will be behind me in the GTI. My 914's already on its way over. So, fuuuucccckkkk, yeah. I'm going to be living somewhere where I speak very little of the language (but I'm on level 11 on Duolingo, so that means, ummm, something), will have probably a tenth of the garage and workshop space I'm used to, will have neighbours, and will have none of the support network I've built up in over ten years of living in this idyllic little valley. Which means I need a new support network. Anybody here into retro stuff and living around Alkmaar/Bergen/Heiloo?
Pics, because everybody loves pics:
That's not me, btw.
I had to get rid of this one in the purge before we move. Rock solid, widetracked, polybushed, ABFd. A set of Anni RXIIs went with it, too.
Likewise this. Swapped it for a drum carder.
Keeping this.
And this. Children negotiable.
