Is DYC 414J still out there? (Triumph spitfire)

Hey all,

I feel bad for making this post becuse I know this car must be scrap by now and it says on the DVLA web site it's not been taxed since 91'
The reason I'm asking is are there any other methods of checking on cars to make sure this is it's fate?

My dad is currently looking for another Spitfire and some of them are really up there in price. There's a few colours he'd like and one is the colour of his original spitfire that my folks sold becuse I came along. It's an early 70s dark blue colour... Anyway what I was thinking is, if there's a glimour of hope I could find it and buy it, he could put his money into that, instead of one off eBay.

I know it's probably long gone but, worth a chance ey!

One of the last of the MkIII Spitfires. Which would make it, almost certainly, Royal Blue.

Good luck with the search, but if I were you, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Demmit, you're right! How did I miss that?  Probably Sapphire Blue then!

I looked just like that guy in the 70s!

Thanks for replying guys. Yeah it's a dark blue, only ever seen a couple of mk4's in this colour and they rarely seem to be in good condition (except the one on eBay for 17k!!)
My dad bought it in the late 70s and sold it in Stoke-on-Trent around 1986. I don't think it was in the best of health.
Never noticed the Somerset reg, my folks had it for about 10 years.

I guess when it was possibly scrapped in 1991 it would have just been an old car than classic though.

Hopefully we can find another similar. I think he'd go for others but I just think that shape and colour look really classic. I'm away or I'd post another pic.
