I needed a small project to occupy my time, and I saw some Ammo case stereo builds on YouTube and fancied having a go.
Our CRT TV recently died, so I pilfered the speakers from it and bought an ammo case off of ebay.
I then bought a small amplifier and Bluetooth board, both of these units run off 12 volts. Which enabled me to re-use a 12 volt alarm battery that I had lying around.
Next stage was to build a baffle board for the speakers and switches
Unfortunately at this stage progress was halted, due to a small mishap with the router.
Anyway after a trip to A & E, and a little bit of confusion with the Doctor about a Router (woodworking tool) and a Router (wireless thing in your house), finger was cleaned and bandaged, and progress resumed.
Next for a bit of primer and paint. I only had Ford Grey, so that had to do.
Before I painted it, I did a quick bench test of the electronics, just to make sure I had done the wiring correctly.
And then final assembly. The unit is completely water proof with the lid down and runs via Bluetooth from your phone. Its not going to win any sound quality awards, but its loud enough and robust.
