Ex Colin Malkin factory group 1 rally car, bought last year. The shell is in great condition but as a group1 it was mainly standard so I have since got different wheels, LSD, Mike Stewart engine, bilsteins front and Gaz rear with Skip Brown springs. Not all of these are fitted. I also want to tidy the engine bay when I replace the motor and remove the servo, tidying up the brake lines, quick rack, modern cage, seats possible a bias pedal box. Decent sump guard is also needed. I'm trying to keep the mods within FIA homologated mods.

Like this, I had a 1500 GLS, same body style. Very underrated in it's day.

I have been looking at your car and it is a very nice looking car. I have been researching the Chrysler Competition Centre and looked at Des O`Dell`s creations which were way ahead of their time back in the 1960`s and 70`s. I have re-searched your car but I am unable to link it with Colin Malkin. Some of the records that were kept at Humber Road were lost and it has been difficult to provide provenance for some of the vehicles. I have managed to find some information for a friemd of mine as I am restoring his Chrysler Competition Centre Car at the moment. This car is RHP551M which was allocated to Colin Malkin in February 1974 and later driven by Paul Clarke, This was following a adisagreement between Colin Malkin and Des O`Dell and resulted in Colin Malkin resigning from the team. The car I am restoring was one of two built at Humber Road the other being RHP552M. These two cars are very historic cars and both have a full provenance. These two cars had Chrysler BRM engines and the one I am restoring has the original engine with the twin cam 16 valve BRM engine with twin side draft carburettors. The engine has all original components but will have the timing chains and tensioners replaced for re-manufactured ones made from better materials as this was the main cause of the engine failures. The Car will be in the Rootes Heritage Centre in Banbury when it is finished. It has been dry stored for over 20 years and will be used for some Heritage Rally`s and shows. If you need some help finding information for your car I would be pleased to help. Another source is through James at the Heritage Centre who is very very helpful. I have noticed that there is a car on their list that was de-registered and then registered in Ireland as HOI4992 for the Ulster Dealer team, for political reasons during that period, which may have been registered back onto its original registration number and could possibly be your car. Best Regards Noe1g

Found it. Yes it was one driven by Colin Malkin. I found some old records where the car was entered into the Scottish Rally in 1973. There were some cars used which were 4 door versions and yes this is one of them.
Best Regards
