Whilst I'm waiting on some bits for the exhaust/ fuel system on the cortina I thought I'd start stripping and fixing the doors- is it going to affect the shell if I remove the doors whilst it's in the air?
It's not a hot a lot in the car but I don't want it to go banana shaped!

No, removing the doors will not be an issue. Assuming the doors fit well now, do whatever you can to mark the mounting points so that you can get back to the same place.
If possible, I always try to support a shell in such a way that it still thinks it is being supported by the wheels. But once again, this wont really matter if you are just working on the doors.

Hi, Also part of 'fixing' the doors will be trial fitting to the body sheel to make sure they fit properly and you haven't inadvertently introduced a twist in them. Especially if you separate skin and door shell or panel beat them.

The above advice, of course, assumes that your shell is good and has more structural integrity than a Weetabix... Which our projects so often do not have!
