Yesterday was the day that that bloke from Blade Runner was born. Which got me thinking about something that's been gestating in the back of my mind for quite some time now. Every so often, a vehicle is released that manages to look like something from an alien planet, utterly futuristic and yet completely timeless, and even now still makes you stop and go 'Whoa!'. And will still do so in 50 years time. Big Citroens are obvious candidates: As is the Porsche 928: And in the small hatchback category, I think we have a winner with the mk1 Twingo: But past that, I'm kinda stuck. But you've got the idea - you're an anti-Tarantino props buyer and you need this to look real, but relatable. What do you choose?

The Tatra is a very big YES. As is the S-Cargo, both FIATs and the Lagonda. The '50s stuff, though? No. It's futuristic from the '50s, not futuristic from I-don't-know-when, if you know what I mean? More Barbarella than Blade Runner. I thought of a few more examples on the way back from town earlier: I think the requirements are it has to be either groundbreaking or exceptional in one way or another. Slimline bumpers are another thing, as is minimalism. Although I don't think the Prius or the Tesla fit the vibe.

Ooh good thread! I can think of a few! Yes, Littlepixel, you have completely got it. Knew there would be loads of Japanese ones but my J-car knowledge is poor. Thought of this earlier as well:

Can I add the Daewoo Espero, as its the sort of bland styling that I can imagine a car being in a dystopian future, where no emotions are shown, and as such cars don't evoke any feelings.
