Getting a bit GOOey with Japanese car sales

Been a while since we had a yahoo auctions thread... so I thought I'd continue the trend, and do one for GOO-Net

GOO is kind of like the Japanese Autotrader and can be navigated with a bit of in browser translation. There are A LOT of things on there, I was looking for some specific stuff, but I'm sure you can find more interesting bits if you are willing to have a go.

How much would it cost if it was already in the uk?
And what sort of price does it cost to get a car from japan to england?

Price is 1.78 million yen or 1,780,000 yen, which is about £12,709-ish

How much would it cost if it was already in the UK, I have no idea, there aren't any 4 dr hardtops over here as far as I know (there are a few 4 doors but not the insane hardtop variety). In fact I can't recall seeing one for sale outside of Japan. I suspect the first person to import one would be defining the price.

How much does it cost to get cars to the UK? There are a bunch of ways to do it, I've been quoted in the past £1,500 for a roll on roll off boat, but I'm not sure you'd want to trust your new purchase to that I'm sure some of the people on here who have direct experience of importing can tell us more.

I think you could probably find one for around that, being black, very clean and already nicely turned out will push the price of that one up. There was a time you could pick them up for around £2k or less, they were totally unloved, but they gained a bit of a following in Japan. Also all their older cars are going up in price, plus our exchange rate over the last few years has got worse.

Jeez - these things have got expensive. I still maintain that late 70s / early 80s Japanese saloons, especially pillarless ones are the best looking cars of their era - by a long shot.

Was thinking that too. Double A-pillar too distinctively wierd for them all to have it.
Surprising partnership though - Honda, Nissan & Toyota's Daihatsu? Just need Suzuki, Subaru & Mitsubishi versions to complete the set!
