Some of you may have seen a few of us scooting around on this beauty at the gathering for the last couple of years up (pushing) and down (riding - by Maxxxer and his big drunken balls) the hill.
The only trouble is that the brakes were basically non-existant and it just looks a little... well... standard!
So, how to get better brakes and make it look a little better? Enter ebay, and £25 worth of mini moto bits (basically one complete bike, a rolling chassis and various other parts)
A surprisingly small amount of work creates this, a height adjustable, slick shod, nice wide front end with a disc brake!
The rear end isn't quite so simple, due to the chain driven gubbins, the fact that the mini moto wheel is far wider and it doesn't have a freewheeling hub attached unlike the rear wheel on the scooter.
I have a plan on how to widen the chain drive to the rear wheel, I just need to figure out how to attach some sort of freewheeling hubs to the wheel and it should be straightforward enough.... In theory at least!
Updates to follow as and when I make some progress!
