Do these exsist anymore?
I am on the look out for a cheap mini at around £1500.
At that money I don't want a total rot box bare she'll rebuild kind of car, I've already got one of those, however something needing a small bit of work would be of interest.
I have a spare 16v conversion sat in the shed, 10s, brakes and all sorts of good parts and it would be nice to put them on something.
I am Kent based and would be after something reasonable close for collection, say 100 miles max, unless road legal further afield would be fine.
Thanks.

They do, but they are few and far between. It sounds like an unfinished project might be suited to what you need, and there are more about in your price range.

Well that's a bummer! A few years ago I picked up a 1275 SPI for £1250 with a fair few months MOT. I already have a nice crusty one in the garage (MKII cooper) so am not looking for another. I might keep my eyes out on the side for one, I'm sure something will pop up. Long gone are the days when I bought my first mini, £300 for a 32k "82 with a years T&T

there are a few out there still, but you have to be lucky to find them. and if your looking for one to do a 16v conversion on, then ones with a dud engine or box are more likely to be in your budget

Usually some stripped projects on ebay with there v5s . At least you can see the rust to start with ...
TBH i think you will struggle . I was after one maybe 3 years ago with £2500 budget . Even on the mini forum i did not get offered much apart from a early 80s 1000cc that although had no rust had a new front end that was all wonky and did not line up !

My £1250 above came from TMF. Do have to drive to Liverpool however. Did a lot of runs in that car over the time I owned it. It reappeared on eBay last month in a very rough state for £2000.
The 16v conversion I have is a very simple swap, it's all built up in the frame with everything there. It would take a day to instal, a weekend at the most to get it into the car hence why I was looking for one with MOT. An auto wouldn't be a bad idea, they demand a little less I suppose.

There is very few for sale on tmf at the min, 1 cooper spi needing restoration for £2k 🤔
An auto is a good call, but even they are getting scarce.

Prices did go nuts a couple of years ago, but they do seem to have settled out a little now.

There was an MOT'd Mini 25 on gumtree for £1000 the other day, which would be perfect, but I imagine it's probably sold already

I imagine so, these things don't hang around long!
However I think this is all but resolved now. I think.

Hi please excuse the low star count, I used to post on here a lot a few years ago, but I moved and changed email accounts and all sorts of other stuff. As a complete and utter petrol head for longer than I care to remember I'm always coming across stuff, I don't know if these two mini's are any good, but they look decent and they seem to be on the forecourt of a small dealer, I can't provide a link as I'm not that good with a computer, but they are listed on Friday Ad one is red and white the other black and white, both have the reg numbers visible so you could do a MOT history check for free on the DVLA web page, I think one is £1450 and the other a little bit dearer hope this helps and good hunting.

Thanks for the links above chaps, both reinstall the faith that cheap ones are out there! you would not think they made millions of them and everyone thinks theres is worth a fortune. mk1s yes and poss mk2s. I remember buying my first mini a 1964 1071s for £350.00 ahhhh the good old days. I concur. Like I say, I have a Mk2 Cooper (unfortunately not an S) and i think due to their limited run (2 years?) they will increase in value and desierability. However this is something I am not interested in. My SPI posted above came up for sale on eBay recently with no mot, all of the good parts removed, rotten as a pear for £2000. I find it insane and I bet someone paid out for it. I recall my uncle buying a MK1 from just down the road in Peckham. Paid £50, repaired all of the problems and was unfortunately stolen a week or so later. On his way to work he walked past the chaps house he bought it from and it was parked in his front garden!
