The Proton Wira, Persona, Satria, and Jumbuck, all to me look like they've come from the same vehicle... Persona. Wira. Satria. Jumbuck They all look basically the same to me, especially from the front. But are they? Is the front sheet metal interchangeable between the models? Do the doors fit between the models? I understand that they are based on an old Mitsubishi, but which one, and can that be used to donate body panels etc? Do any of you guys own one of these, and have you been able to modify it in any way? Share your knowledge people, let me know what you know!

As a Malaysian friend said to me, "The only acceptable way to modify a Proton is with a match."
I guess he should know!

As above, this series of Protons are all based on the CC series Lancer/Mirage platform
I learned to drive in a Proton Satria and dated a girl who had a Satria Gti. Not bad cars at all, mechanically unstoppable (ours went through being P plater fodder for myself and my younger brother 7 years apart, plus my father driving it an hour each way through the country for work) but squeaky, rattly and rusty
All front body panels are interchangeable with the CC Lancer/Mirage. Lots of Evo stuff bolts in (engines, seats, gearboxes). If it fits a CC Lancer it will fit one of these pretty much. There is a company called RPW in Western Australia that used to do a bunch of performance parts for them as well, including quad throttle kits and the like

I owned a satria sport some years ago as temporary "between cars" transport. Think it was a 1.5? Auto. Had the same body kit as the gti just with smaller alloys and different interior trim.
It seamed well built and I gave it death for a few months it never let me down.
On the other hand a mate owned a new 2007 proton gen 2 for a while and that was a truly god awful car.

One of my customers (briefly) had an 02 1300cc Wira, what really confused me was the road tax was £280 a year! It was scrapped when the next MOT was due cos the airbag, ABS and management lights were all on and it needed 3 tyres.

I want to like the Proton with the evo front, but i just don't... Strangly i prefer it with the standard Proton front, although... What is the face that this one is wearing?

A friend of mines Uncle used to have an Evo 1, occasionally picked him up from school in it, we ripped him mercilessly about his Uncles body kitted Proton

The 1.3 magma engine in the wira i used was woeful. Slow, revy but with no torque or power, but it was a hardy little thing. came to me nearly out of mot ready for scrap at 9 years old because the owner didn't think it was worth spending the 300quid to get a test on it.
