Thanks to both NercDan and Nicola who let me know it was on, and then on the day I actually saw some cars pass by my home.

I think it could have potential.

Also, since the Chatham Dockside thing was stopped, there is not much to go to around here.

If the holiday camp had any sense and vision they would make it a once a month event during the summer months and get a burger van with some cold drinks or even beers in there.

Maybe charge 50p or a pound for entry, toward a local charity....... or not.
People will happily drive a 6mpg car or burn out on £180.00's worth of tyres, but not give 50p to a charity.

I think a RR stand is against what worked well there.

No specific brand or style, just like minded people.

I couldn't agree more Grizz. However for every one person that's reluctant to donate a few quid, there is someone else who is more than happy to, and those are the people I'd rather spend time with!

I did think it would have been hard for you not to notice the event was on, given your location.

It was a shame that the dockside meet was cancelled, however due to a select few plonkers it sort of became inevitable towards the end. I think that if a local enough venue was to begin something again it could be a roaring success if its gone about wisely.

I've often thought that a "cars and coffee" type morning meet would be a success on say a Sunday morning. Problem is finding a suitable enough venue. I've seen people arrange such meets in the surrounding areas, but it's a bit of a trot for us lot to drive to a nice country pub Surrey for a breakfast coffee.

I think the dockside meet was a success due to the facilities that were there, a good choice of half decent places to eat, grab a drink and whatever else.

Looks like a decent enough day and I'd be keen to get out there next year. At least it's local enough for me to try and push the Porsche home!

Tbh grizz there's so many events on down here during the summer and it being a predominately
owners only site
I don't think they would be able to fit in a monthly event
I have had a chat with our site manager and it was a great success and there will be a date next year, will post this up when I know more
