Can anyone give me a pointer as to the value of a 1lt Breadvan.
Its in good nick, low mileage and no rust. Mot and drives nice with service history.
Ive looked on eBay and the price varies from a couple of hundred into a couple of thou.

I have an '85 bready I bought 2 years ago with a short MOT. Picked it up for 400 squids. 500 squids for welding and service (inc all suspension bushings and gaitors etc) I reckon the car is now worth a grand I think the mint ones are 2k up, and you can buy a crappy one (like I did) for a few hundred. I don't think you'll lose the money you put into a crappy one though

chunkybond Thanks for the reply Looks like they are starting to gather some upward movement then price wise. This one needs no welding and is really tidy for the year.

curse word, wish I still had my proper Bready ( as in, factory van, with panelled side windows.). It was totally standard, years back, but there's a lot can be done with them.

Its strange how a price can be so low and static on cars for years then all of a sudden there into the 000's

Like fords, the badge tax is being exploited on these and the price is pushed up and drops down artificially. Before the price of the car truly rises, the price of parts has to rise due to supply shortages which means more get taken off the road as they're being broken for parts. Only after that carry on for a few years will the value increase properly. The thing these have going for them is that they are cheap and well built and so much as I am a fan, I'd never pay a grand+ for one. I've had breadvans and I can imagine to an up and coming retro driver, they are very appealing. You can only really price it for the current market place and price it low if you want it gone or high if you don't want it gone.

rude I know what you are saying. I'm selling for my Mum so don't want to give it away but happy to under sell a bit so the potential buyer is happy. Hers is virtually rust free good arches cills etc would require no welding at all, does need a good polish though.
