Have I seen that car knocking about the North East? A few years ago yes but not anymore with buying a home and the arrival of the mini human it had to go for something more safe and modern (in my wife's eyes) and couldn't afford to be running two cars What you got now? Still in the North East?

Still in the North East? I have a silver mundane Honda civic but its safe and reliable and yes still in the north east about two mile north from Newcastle.

Another thing I'd like to add Is how something you've never been interested in suddenly grips you and you begin thinking I love that build I'd like one of them!! The car in question??...mr bounces Midas coupe Take a look if you haven't already such an inspiring build

I like cars, old cars especially. I like talking about cars and it is nice to see there are enthusiasts of all kinds here doing some cool builds and there is a good variety of said builds, too.
I don't like moaning and pointless bickering, which this forum does not have or if it does have any, it is slim to none. Like others said, there is not much snobbery here and more of a ''yes mush, that looks proper tidy even though it isn't my cup of tea like'' attitude.

I found this forum by accident after an event at snetterton I had been told about it by someone beforehand but I don't really do forums so never looked it up
But once I did check it out I was hooked I spent hours reading through the rides section before joining myself I'm a big petrol head but I have more of an interest in the older cars than the new stuff 60s to 90s So this fits the bill
You have all sorts of people with all sorts of abilities From the bloke with limited equipment working on his driveway to fully qualified fabricators with a nice workshop and all manner of fancy tools All making weird and wonderful creations in there own rights "no right or wrong " What's not to like
Then you have the people Everyone shares the same interest and generally there happy to help out others It was ages before I took the plunge and put up my own build thread All I could think of is "I'm just going to get slated" by everyone "you should of done it like this not like that etc etc" But it was fine in fact I was pleasantly surprised with the encouragement I received I've all ways got something on the go so that won't be the last build thread I do
One criticism I would say that I've noticed on some other build threads (bit of a bug bear) Is the constant "IVA" rule book bashing Someone's taken time to post up a build thread and then you get a number of people arguing the legality of it Yeah some people are unaware of it so it's not a bad idea to mention it But just bagging on about it just ruins the thread and people stop posting and its not a forum without posts

This is my internet home.
For all the reasons mentioned above, and then some.
Long may it live.
Been on here 11 years, never found a reason to leave.
Thanks to the members on here.

Mainly Variety...fresh ideas...
Plus a few of the other forums I used to go on have kinda died
Plus not getting flamed for suggesting certain makes have inherent design flaws/can be improved from when they were made!
Plus NOT having to see status updates of your ex's like on Facetwat ;-)

I came here from Retrorides linking Area 52, and hung around. There is great variety, and even if I don't like peoples cars, their enthusiasm for them is great. Eg. I don't like Angyl's cars. rover 416, austin princess, ADO16? Nope, they don't do it for me in the slightest. Tan Brown, purple, red and white with gold foil? Again no. But the dude keeps at them. We've seen his welding get better, suffered the ups and downs of owning old tat and generally plugging away at stuff that most would have thrown the towel on. Just a pity that some of the old timers that originally drew me to the forum aren't posting as regularly. @bastardchild and his monzas, @xbollox and thread of tat, Mystery Machine 's endeavours etc.
