I looked up the episode of Combat Dealers for anyone interested, S04 E05 War Factories. Just after you say "I think I'll leave you to clean it up..." I can just about hear "...I've got an RX2 to build." Watched that last night. Very interesting, but dear lord that Bruce fella is hard work. Iβm still at a loss as to how much his Panther is worth... π Itβs not βhisβ Panther. It belongs to Rob at the Australian Artillery and Armoury museum in Cairns. I have very little to do with Bruce as the Museum pays me directly

Was interested in a comment on the Australian Armour and Artillery Museum Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/ausarmour/photos/a.584832681552997/1713144348721819/?type=3&theaterFor those who don't have/want Facebook, the guy's comment was: "at least they cast them with hollow track guides...unlike the ones cast by the British at the end of the war" I know we built some after the war ended - such as the Panther G at Bovington - but thought they were made from existing parts left lying in the factory. Didn't know we also manufactured parts (if he's correct)?

Itβs not βhisβ Panther. It belongs to Rob at the Australian Artillery and Armoury museum in Cairns. I have very little to do with Bruce as the Museum pays me directly I worked, peripherally, in the world of TV and film for a number of years, and the difference between how things are presented and actual reality can be staggering. Itβs possible that Iβd get on with him quite well in person, and he certainly has a passion for his subject, but heβs hard to watch. For me anyway. Too shouty. My dad made a good living dealing with government surplus in the sixties and seventies, Iβm sort of caught between horrified at the prices some things fetch these days that we couldnβt give away forty years ago, and pleased that some things are now worth something close to their real cost to manufacture. Unfortunately, nothing I have left is going to net me enough to retire; not unless you know someone who really desperately wants a couple of field telephone sets... π

Watched that last night. Very interesting, but dear lord that Bruce fella is hard work. Iβm still at a loss as to how much his Panther is worth... π I am recording it to watch at the weekend and if that @johnnybravo is not up to scratch then I'm asking for my money back! I will send you a 2p refund via Western Union ....πππ
