No mot for ten year = IVA check needed?

Hi all, just seen someone say this on facebook. Is this right?

"If new legislation kicks in any vehicle that has not been MOT'd for ten years will need an IVA before it's allowed back on the road. So potentially add £400 to your restoration budget."

I can understand a VIC being called for to prove it's the correct car but Don't see an IVA being required unless it's been radically altered from standard.

It does and it doesn't.

A SGS inspection is what they now do instead, it fulfills the same criteria. Except you can pretty much tell the SGS guy what you want his report to say.....

do you know what the IVA test actually is? what is involved to pass it?
