My 525TDS has a leaky injection pump. I've read that removal and refitting the pump requires special tools and other diesel wizardry. I'm reasonably happy getting involved with complicated mechanical stuff, but I'm also happy to admit that some jobs are best left to the professionals. Is this one of those jobs? Or is there some kind of how to guide available that mere mortals can follow successfully? The one guide I found online has been ruined by Photobucket ransom demands, so the guide makes no sense without the photos.
By the looks of it, the pump is leaking from one of the two big seals that join the main housings. This is a job that can be done with the pump on the car, so the internet says, but as I have the whole seal kit I was considering doing all the seals as it's only a matter of time before another seal goes and the pump has to come off.
Does anyone have any advice?
