A massive thankyou to a pair of fellow Retro Riders following a call for help.
It was my father in laws 75th birthday over the weekend and i thought it might be nice to surprise him with a ride in one of his favourite cars. He used to own a very rare Lancia Beta Trevi in the 1980s and had a good time driving to Germany in it with the family.
I placed a call for help on this very forum and waited. Within a couple of days tonylanciabeta replied with news that this already rare car was even rarer as there were only two on the road at the moment. He made a few calls and found an owner who had a Trevi but without a current MOT. Theo kindly had the car MOT'd ready for an appearance.
On Saturday, Theo drove from Enfield to Farnborough to pick up Tony and then to Swindon. My father in law is a man of few words, but was clearly very pleased to see a Tevi again. Theo and Tony are clearly enthusiasts and we had a good chat about old cars. Theo then kindly gave Dad a ride in the car.
I want to say a really big THANK YOU to Tony and Theo for all their efforts. I appreciate it......
Tony - please could you pass over to Theo as i cant find his username on here. update Thotos
Pictures when i can upload them as Photobucket has gone bonkers.
