Very tidy white Volvo 850 Manual Estate. It's a big old bus which goes like a stung Rat. MOT August 2018. I always wanted a 5 cylinder Turbo and now I've scratched the itch I want a change. It's a very rare manual Estate and the gearchange is nice and smooth. Previous owner said in a previous life it was a Cumbria Police unmarked pursuit car (it has a sunroof so couldn't have been a battenburg) I have no evidence of this either way.
Electric front windows
Electric sunroof
Heated front seats
Original premium stereo system
Half leather interior
Retractable boot cover
It has powerflex engine mount bushes and Goodrich braided brake hoses. It has a 2 1/2 inch exhaust system
It had been neglected when I bought it and it needed a fair bit of work to get it ready for it's MOT. In the 18 months I've owned it -
Mopped & polished
Refurbed alloy wheels
Replaced headlights
Replaced indicators
Rear shock absorbers
Rear top mounts
Rear delta links
Rear coil springs
Front struts
Front top mounts and top mount bearings.
Front ABS reluctor rings
Rear ABS sensors
N/S front ABS sensor wiring
ABS module refurbished
Oil & filter change (Mobil super 2000 semi synthetic 10w40 and Wix filter)
New plugs, air & fuel filters
Rear brake pads
Cambelt, Waterpump and Auxiliary belt done this month using an INA kit.
PCV system replaced
Full Service
New radiator 2 months ago (oil cooler was leaking)
Oil cooler hoses refurbished
Gearbox oil changed (Gulf Syngear 75w90)
New battery a month ago
3 new budget tyres for the MOT
Coolant system flushed and fresh coolant
New starter motor a week ago
I've spent a lot of time and money on it getting it to where it is now and you'll find it hard to find an 850 T5 this tidy, let alone one with a manual M56 gearbox. You are more than welcome to have a good look round it and I'll show you round the work that has bee done.
Now remember, it is 21 years-old so it does have some bad points -
The aircon doesn't work (almost every 850 I've see has knackered aircon)
Odometer has stopped at 183k. Again, this is another common problem on the 850 (little cogs wear out) and can be repaired using a £15 repair kit from Ebay. Working on previous average and previous MOT mileages it should be around 200k. (The mileage can be retrieved by plugging it in)
Stone chips on the bonnet and front bumper. The windscreen has a couple of stone chips.
It has 1 key and no fob (they can be re-programmed using an existing unit) it locks and unlocks with the key.
It's by no means perfect but has the potential to be a stunning example. It's a nice quick car which puts a smile on your face. I've started looking at other cars now and that's a signal for me to change.
Car is located between Birmingham and Wolverhampton about ten minutes from J10 of the M6.
I'm looking for £1900 ONO or might swap for a nice comfy automatic luxo-barge of similar value. Try me.
Inspections and questions are welcome! I'll add more pictures tomorrow.
