Lowered and de-trimmed... a bit "tongue-in-cheek" but I reckon it'd be excellent!! I like those steels they have too. All this Volvo driving has set me off now, and what's more they're cheap as chips too! A recipe for an impulse buy if ever I saw one!!

Here's my wagon as is. All the superfluous plastic trim has come off (holes still to weld up) and on Rmads advice I've got 205/60/14's on the front with some going on the back soon. The stock steels are getting a re-paint, more soon. I've just p-shopped the stance as we haven't lowered it yet. I need to get my overlarge trailer off the drive first!

Might do.....oh all right then! Clear lenses are no problem. €40 a pair. I might keep the bumpers black though for an accent. There are some 240 struts on ebay at the moment so I hope to win those and do all the hard work on the bench. The tailgate is going to get a smoothing as well. The lock can go instantly as it works on the central locking and I might try remote opening using the wiring from the wiper motor (which is also going).
Anyone know from what year it became compulsory to have side indicators?

I might keep the bumpers black though for an accent. Might be nice to just body colour the scoop underneath,.. so the Bumper acts as a line across the front of the car,.. and will then tie in the bumper at the back nicely then,.. Shame you can't chrome them, your door handles and your window surrounds That black Debonair that was on here a little while back had a lovely idea, which was to just smooth off the rear door handles. So it had the look of a 2 door, but still had a front door handle to break up the expanse of emptyness your usually left with if you totally smooth off a car. Car looks tops though!

I still haven't put my Volvo up for sale. It's a 1992 2.0 turbo estate in blue. Good runner which chatters like a rally car, £500 drives it away! I was gonna go this route but the Prelude came up too cheap!

I like that. Is that OK with the MOT man? I've never found a definative answer to shaved handles and the law. I know there has to be ingress from the outside but don't know if that includes solenoids or access via one door only.
The window trim is chrome! It has PVC tape over it. Earlier bumpers might fit for that chrome look but they still have a huge rubber centre. Ultimately I suppose I'd have to find some from another car that could be modified.
Someone buy MWFs Volvo quick. I'd love a turbo as well!

Like this Now with clear indicators Also : "Yes it is legal to have no handles. You must be able to open the door from the inside and the outside. There is no specific way mentioned-so for the MOT you could simply take off your window seal and a have a piece of wire to use as a 'handle' to open it from the outside- as i think you are no longer allowed to have it only able to have the doors opened by the alarm channels. If you had a button under the wing mirror for both doors or something (TVR stylee) then it would pass fine." Also "Speaking to an ex MOT tester today, he told me the handles aren't part of the MOT but if the can't gain access to the car from outside then he can't test it therefore you fail."

Wagoneer: love the de-badged grille! How tidy is that! I always think coupe'd 4-doors can look a bit odd due to the shorter front doors. Are the Bertone coupe ones longer?! However that'd be a job and a half - shifting B-Pillars, welding rear doors... don't fancy that much!!! Might get a 240 as a runaround, as the 940 has to be sold soon . That's the trouble with this forum - it's too bloody inspirational!!! ;D

if you wanted to shave the handles i would use a specific solenoid hit if i were you - this will come with the override button which you mount hidden somewhere.
Funny you should speak about doing that to a four door cos i was thinking about doing the same to my four door golf. Ive got a solenoid kit which I'm no longer using on my beetle and thought that could be an ideal use for it.
that volvo looks sweet too!!

Yes please! Ditch the race paint for solid colour and some nice wheels and we're in business. Provided the mods already mentioned are done as well of course! I'd love a 2 door turbo. Oneday....

Almost there! Needs lowering now! De-badging as well. This is sort of where the wagon is going.
