I could have put these in the Ebay and Elsewhere section but these have got me thinking about potential 'builds' more than just purchases haha
Not sure if anyone else has seen a similar trend but I always used to see AutoTrader as having fairly strong prices for cars and Ebay was better for bargains, but these days it seems to have swung the other way somewhat. (Of course there are other places for a bargain, gumtree, bookface etc.)
Anywho, these two sprung out at me from doing a fairly simple "cars up to 1995, lowest price first " search

I don't remember seeing a Carina II like this on the road in yearss, even the facelift Carina II or even the Carina e is a fairly rare sight these days. Could perhaps benefit from the usual J mods of lows over split 13" rims? I did a bit of googling but couldn't find many examples of them modified, and it is slightly less desirable being a liftback rather than a saloon.. Anybody know of any good modded ones?
Then theres this

For me the 'Meteor' special edition treads a fine line between cool and totally naff but the white-on-white-on-white colour scheme got me thinking. Could it be a good base for a kinda 90s look project? Needs a set of 13" white wheels to go with the theme, maybe some Compomotive TH's? Or if you're feeling brave and want to truly embrace the 90s, TSW Venoms?
Or actually, something like Nothelles would be ideal marmite, 90s era wheelage
But I don't think they exist in a small enough size
What do we reckon? Am I barking up the wrong tree? Or have you found any potential bargain gems and have mental (in either sense of the word) build ideas?
