CX right? Always quite liked the safari estates and the 6 wheeled versions..

when he cut out the rot it was quite good behind needing some remidial work ,




he done 3 repairs to both inner sills , and rebuilt the battery tray , be interesting to see how this turns out , he let me have a good look round it , it was way ahead of its time , and looking under the bonnet it , was head scratching ,

safari estates, when i was 13 and in secondery school our metal work taecher used to drive the estate , we nick named it la shuttle , it wasmad looking parked in the car park with mk 1 2 escorts mk 1 jetta s and of course vw van s beetle s

That six wheeled one is owned by my old woodwork teacher from School mr Collins
He hated me back in the early 80s
I wasn’t a model pupil!, I had a chat with him at a show last summer , he did say he remembered me and was shall we say diplomatic......great car

Ah, the CX!

It must have been summer 1980, I was hitch-hiking in France with a mate. We had been standing in the pouring rain in Lyons for about six hours when a lady stopped in one of these. Inside it was a bit scruffy to say the least, torn seats and door cards but we were very glad to be on the move again. She drove like the wind despite thunderstorms and heavy rain and as we came over the top of a hill into Paris outskirts, Visage - Fade to Grey was on the stereo and the city was lit up by the evening sun from under the clouds. Always think of the CX when I hear that song.

Later, I had to tow a glider trailer (big glider, 2-seater, tandem axle trailer) in heavy snowy weather and borrowed a friend's CX. It went like a dream running straight with no scary moments at all.

My dad has a 2200trs still now.

reg check says it is too, I remember retro cars staff having one years ago I'm sure.

Still kicking myself for passing up on a Turbo 1 with some T2 upgrades for £400 about 15 years ago and a Prestige 20 years ago. The itch is still there though but I think I've missed the boat now.

 i took tiny down to see the citroen , i told him all about the strange car that micheal was doing up for one of his customers , as soon as he seen it he said  A DELOREAN  back to the future car lol , well sort of . it was ahead of its time . micheal had made  some progress on the welding,body work , he said he would have it painted in about a week or 2 inbetween jobs ,  so when he has ,he l ring me to come down for pics . tiny wants his pic when itd done to show his friends in school .
