Lockheed cylinder part number - all the same fitment?

These are the calipers fitted to my super minx:



Marked 112018 then I think Q18. The other casting marking I can't really make out but possibly OA189, or DA189.

Seems that 112018 calipers were fitted to MGBs and you can get brand new ones for really reasonable price, but will they fit? There seem to be various versions of these.

Anyone clued up? Also would be interested in any improved calipers I could fit - I was hoping they would be Girling units so I could fit M16s but no joy.

I think a lot of these are casting numbers rather than part numbers, so the mounting holes may be drilled in different places for example. I know the numbers cast on rear wheel cylinders don't help anything. No specific knowledge of your calipers though.

I'd say you've got as much chance that you'll find a Girling caliper that fits - especially if from the same family (i.e. Arrows)?

Biggred can refurb my calipers for £85 a pair which is more than reasonable if you ask me so that's looking like the best option at the moment.

I have tried to find out what fits but aside from asking, I've no idea how to find matching calipers! I feel like I saw someone, somewhere, mention Volvo four pots. Might have to try and find out where I saw it.

Volvo 4-pots fit where GM/Vauxhall ones and some smaller BL stuff does - on 70's and 80's.

Princess ones fit where Ford ones do IIRC

Sadly, I can't remember much else past that!
