1999 Mazda B2500 pick up

My first venture into pick up truck ownership, won tonight on eBay, just have to hope everything goes ok with collecting it. 

I've bought it because I need to get some gravel into my back garden, 3+ tonnes which I didn't feel like wheel barrowing on my own. So bought this.

Even though I've bought it for that, I can't help but making it into a small project and tidying it up, roll bar, some spot lights on the roof, maybe some different wheels, tidy up the interior.

Things are already starting to look bad, when I asked the seller questions before the auction ended, their response was almost instant, now I’ve won the truck at auction with no reserve for a price I’m More than happy with, possibly there not so happy and have gone quiet.

Hopefully I hear from them soon.

Picked it, done close to 100 miles, all seems fine, no rattles, smoke or anything, not very good for motorway driving with its gearing though.

It's not fast either but chugs along ok.

The seller hadn't cleaned it in years, interior was a mess, spiders webs and all sorts along with plenty of building dust.

So gave it a quick clean.







The dents, I should be able to get a few of them out to improve its appearance a bit. Wheels will give the a re paint, re paint the tow bar, will get some under seal under it too. Will look for a better drivers seat or some seat covers. 

I only planned to have it a couple of months to sort my garden but have already think it's great so might keep it longer.

I was watching this on ebay, I quite fancy one of these little trucks - nearly everything else I fancy is out of my budget.

A lowering kit from the states looked quite reasonably priced.

I've wanted a pick up for years, now I've got one, I'm going to see if it what I want long term, and I'll probably look to buy something a little bit newer.



This one has come with pretty much every MOT, loads of paperwork, cambelt done in 2008 so I think I'll replace it, although I've never done a cambelt before.

I've got other car stuff to get sort before I can start messing with the truck.

Check Facebook selling. There's a nice b2500 for £950 on there at the moment.

This is the worst dent. I want to get some of it out, that's saturdays job, will see how I get on,

I've got a hydraulic pusher so will hopefully get some out, and the pillar behind the passenger door needs some work



Bought this too, it pops the dents out but they bounce back, so might have to wedge something in the gap

Nice purchase, well wear.
Sometimes things come your way in the most unlikely circumstances.
Have a look on youtube at 'hot water dent removal' you'd be surprised how much you can do, although I reckon you might need a hammer for that one.
Dents on these vehicles add character. Embrace it!
Get it running right and enjoy it.

do not how to call them in english , but photographers use compressed air in spray cans to clean Their expensive lenses. if you heat up the dent with an hot air gun ( don't burn the laquer!) and spray the compressed air from the outside of the dent inwards in circles, of pops the dent out by schrinking. there's probably an how to on YouTube somewere....

lol. Basically a heavy duty whoopie cushion that you can pump up it expands behind the dent and pops it out, I can’t get behind the top part of the dent with anything else.

Can't use it yet as if I buy road tax I have to buy February even though there's only a couple of days left.

Found this on it when I got home from work, I'm not using it as my main car until April as I have use of a lease car until then, maybe someone has spotted that it doesn't move too much and thought I might want rid.

The late 80's / 90's were my favourite models of utes (Hilux/Courier/Mazda B), all the modern stuff is all to big, tall and complicated. Yours is a bit luxury with the bucket seats though!

Wired up the lights in the roof.



Although I’m worried about battery drain as, as soon as I connect the live to the battery the relay it clicks but the lights don’t go on.

Then only when I flash full beam does the trigger wire operate the lights.

I didn’t think it would click until I operate the full beams, I’ve put a meter across the battery, the reading doesn’t change when connected or not.
