Just cos i'm curious on this one: Mainly cos its not heavy at all, and that wee engine is enough, normal city driving and short traffic light grand prixx! Now for standard car type 820kg minus windows, seat, trim, + load protector, Wild guess, 750?KG and 49hp, its a recon item and still feels lively, so if my sums are correct... 65HP/tonne quite happy with that.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

87.12 BHP/Ton from new probably less now but not much...have cleaned the pipes and carb, only done 58K in total and use high octane fuel - as you should with J-tin seeing as our High octane is their standard petrol. Still get the 75Mph shakes though....ooh me poor bones LOL

Imp standard weight = 715kg. IIRC. Mine probably weighs about 675kg. or so. I am about 110kg. (fat bloke ), so say 785kg. all up. I am holding out for 90bhp from the 930cc full race engine, so being pessimistic, say 85bhp. I make that 108bhp/ton. "I'm"

Power: 64BHP Weight: 870KG Ratio: 73.5BHP/Tonne Came out a better than I thought! Worked out what my Cuore TR-XX Avanzato R4 will be like when I fit the parts I bought on, should come to a healthy 225BHP/Tonne, or maybe even a little bit over 300BHP/Tonne if I stroke it up to 713cc and change all the internals. Might as well buy my gravestone now.

just incase anybody else is wondering, mine is new specs, but the car has 64k on it now, so will be less.
also the weight in kgs as people have been doing, and without the drivers in, cos no one really takes that into consideration, because it sounds better if ya don't ;D
the reason I started this thread I was talkin to a colleague, who at the mo is driving a 1.9cdti sri astra, 56 registered. and that is putting out around 120bhp, but weighs a massive 1400kg, so is techinically slower than mine. however it has 230+ ib/ft of torque.
edit: he has a mk2 golf on throttle bodies and fancy cams, with about 196 bhp/tonne aswell ;D

250 bhp (ish) 1.4 tonnes - lardy. 179 bhp / tonne I think some weight saving might be in order. (Car AND driver).

My old polo was 140bhp and gave 155bhp/tonne. Which gutted my mate as his spangly new £14k Clio 172 straight out of the showroom was, you guessed it, 155bhp/tonne
