The headlining is still fitted (the only thing that is!)
It's in good condition but I don't want to ruin it when spraying or avoid not painting underneath by being frightened to remove it.
What's it like to fit headlining? If I'm extremely careful removing it and storing it that is!
I'm just looking for a few opinions from those who have been in this situation

Hi Jim - If you take your time it should come out ok - I take it that you are referring to the Cortina - if so peel all the edges back which are glued on around the door & windscreen apertures - once you have done that the rest of it is suspended on steel hoops that fit into the bodyshell on either side of the car - the hoops actually thread through the headlining - point of caution though if it's the original headlining it will be fairly brittle around the glued edges this tends to lead to the headlining splitting - not at lot that you do about this - its just the headlining that has deteriorated with age - has for refitting it it's pretty straight forward providing again that you take your time - I shall be fitting a new one to Pete's Corsair in the coming months so you can have a photographic / talk through of the process alternatively you would be very welcome to come my place and view the process from start to finish - but I don't know where about's you are based - Chris
