The underside and sills are detailed to concours standard and the car has competed successfully at such events. INTERIOR
Trimmed in the standard Black Cloth upholstery this interior is exactly how Mazda intended. Everything is co-ordinated and operates perfectly. The flawless seats remain in exceptional order and the steering wheel and gear knob show prominent factory veins only found on extraordinary low mileage examples. The classic sports dashboard houses a cluster of crystal clear instruments that function precisely and retain a new car feel. The tailored MX5 over mats remain in place and protect the immaculate black carpeting. The tool kit, wheel brace and covered space saver wheel are all present and spotlessly clean.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
To experience driving a well maintained and cared for Mk 1 MX-5 is a true motoring delight. The lightweight 1.8 litre 16v DOHC engine sits in a truly immaculate engine bay which will amaze onlookers with a level of perfect detailing rarely seen. The engine, regularly serviced at Mazda, is lively and power flow very smooth with excellent low to mid-range torque. The close ratio short throw gearbox provides light and precise gear changes. WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
This exceptional Mazda has been upgraded with dealer supplied seven spoke “daisy” alloy wheels in perfect condition. Quality matching Yokohama 185/60R14 tyres have excellent tread and no cracks. 255mm ventilated discs at the front and solid 251mm at the back install maximum braking confidence.
HISTORY FILE
This amazing example was registered new by Mazda Main Dealers, Bourne Road Garage of Kent, on 3rd April 1996. Supplied to first owner Mr Mark Sweet with three UK keepers since the incredibly low 20,342 miles from new is fully verified in the history file. The original Mazda Service Record booklet houses eleven stamped entries, the first nine of which are the supplying Mazda dealer. The most recent stamped entry at Bridley Mazda of Stourbridge was at 18,964 miles. All handbooks, manuals and spare key are neatly contained in the grey leather Mazda wallet along with an immaculately kept folder containing invoices and every MOT carried out from three years old. Sold in December 2016 by KGF Classic Cars to a customer in France, the car has been professionally stored in his collection before the opportunity to purchase it back was welcomed enthusiastically, knowing that the car would be returning to the UK and that low mileage examples are highly sought after. KGF Classic Cars are delighted to be able to present this stunning example back to the open market ready for a new lucky owner.
Virtually impossible to find in such original, unmolested condition, this car is arguably the best remaining MK1 MX5.
