Went to Silverstone today to see the World Rallycross championship. It was packed, they reckoned 27,000 people attended over the two days.
This was the first year it has been held at Silverstone and not Lydden Hill and as a result they decided to change the format somewhat. The racing was the same but the organisers had decided to turn it into a 'Festival' with live music and other distractions, oh and £50 a ticket (booked in advance, £70 on the day. Bearing in mind that it was £24 in advance at Lydden last year!)
The racing was excellent, some of the distractions were excellent too.
There was a display by 'Players', a Group B display, a selection of Prodrive cars and lots of other stuff that doesn't interest me.
Anyways, pictures.
Players first.
Group B next. This is the best display of ex Group B cars I have ever seen. (and I was at Wollaton Park in 1986 to see the RAC rally!)
There were also lots of other motorsport icons from past and present.
And some videos.
And finally, you have to love the bins at Silverstone.
