Garage bill prices in the '70's.. Research help..

Hi guys, bit of an odd ask on this one but does anyone remember what garages would be charging around the mid 70's for stuff like oil changes, antifreeze, ect? I have tried google to no avail. It's for research for a 70's garage display at the Dig For Victory Show in Bristol in a few weeks, so any help would be appreciated!

Got 3 old receipts from my dads garage from 1970, hope this helps.

When the change to decimal happened the cheapest petrol I could buy was at a scabby Conoco (Jet) station on the way to the M1 south from Leeds. In the middle of a maze of roadworks as that part of the M1 was being built.

I remember it well as it was on my route home on vacation and I was mightily ticked when it went over 30p

The cheapest I recall was pre decimal days at 4/8 a gallon c.23.5p per gallon

These days I mentally adjust £1 to be 1 shilling in pre 1973 first oil shock money and for most things that works quite well.

Except electronic items obviously!

Federation ordinary went up from 1/7 to 1/8 per pint when I was working as a waiter at the local working men's Club. I used to know my 1/7 times table and had to learn the 1/8 one

Hey guys, I've not long got home from helping pack down the show and sets, but as promised here is a few photos of the garage on the day.
We ended up using the 'branded' chalkboard we made up as a sign to just say that there was a garage display and come check it out, reception was great. Thanks again to all those who dug out info for us, it was interesting to have a look at.
